Why a full hardware / software ecosystem?
Our research and testing showed that the biggest factors holding back effective AI analysis of visual data were low image resolution and differing recording / encoding techniques. Plus, the full end-to-end design ensures the security of your data is more effective.
Can I plug Echidna into my existing cameras?
Unfortunately,no. Our platform has been optimised for AI analysis. Almost all other cameras are built to enable people to view, not for machines to analyse. This means that through resolution and compression choices, the information AI depends on to analyse is sacrificed. Even the best AI on the planet cannot analyse or recover what the hardware never recorded in the first place.
Do I need expert help to install, set up and monitor the system?
Absolutely not! We have deliberately designed our ecosystem to be as easy to use as possible. If you can use a cordless drill and connect a device to the internet, that's all the skills you need. Our AI platform does the heavy lifting in examining the footage so you only see the important stuff.
